Our Course Sequences

At this time, the ABA Online program offers two course sequences, one for those seeking certification at the bachelor’s level (courses BEHP5011 through BEHP5015) and a second for those seeking certification at the master’s level (courses BEHP5011 through BEHP5018). Both course sequences are preapproved by the BACB® as meeting coursework eligibility requirements for certification under the BACB’s Fourth Edition Task List core curriculum standards.

Seeking certification as a board certified assistant behavior analyst® (BCaBA®)?

Our four-term, preapproved course sequence meets the instructional requirements set by the BACB. Taking 3 credits per term, this sequence takes approximately 12 months to complete.

  • BEHP5011: Foundations, Concepts and Principles of Behavior Analysis (3 credits)
  • BEHP5012: Basic Elements of Applied Behavior Analysis (3 credits)
  • BEHP5013: Developing, Strengthening and Maintaining Behavior (3 credits)
  • BEHP5014B: Introduction to Ethical and Professional Conduct of Behavior Analysts (1 credit)
  • BEHP5015: Decreasing, Eliminating and Replacing Problem Behavior (2 credits)

Note: BEHP5014 and BEHP5015 are taken sequentially in a single term for a total of 3 credits within that term.

Seeking certification as a board certified behavior analyst® (BCBA®)?

Our six-term, preapproved course sequence meets the instructional requirements set by the BACB. Taking 3 credits per term, this sequence takes approximately 18 months to complete.

  • BEHP5011: Foundations, Concepts and Principles of Behavior Analysis (3 credits)
  • BEHP5012: Basic Elements of Applied Behavior Analysis (3 credits)
  • BEHP5013: Developing, Strengthening and Maintaining Behavior (3 credits)

  • BEHP5016B: Ethical and Professional Conduct of Behavior Analysts (2 credits)

  • BEHP5018: Advanced Topics in Behavior Analysis (3 credits)

Note: BEHP5014B and BEHP5015 are taken sequentially in a single term for a total of 3 credits within that term. The same is true for BEHP5016B and BEHP5017A.

Prepare to Sit for BCBA Certification Exam

BehaviorAnalysis@Simmons is the highly respected Master of Science in Behavior Analysis program delivered online from Simmons College. The program prepares students for leadership roles in the rapidly growing field of applied behavior analysis.

The innovative curriculum, which is approved by the BACB®, is built on integrating theory, research, and practice across a variety of applications in order to effectively prepare students to enter the field as exemplary scientist-practitioners. In addition, students complete rigorous group and one-on-one mentoring components, during which they receive individualized feedback on mastering key concepts and applications. This preparation expands students' career potential and produces strong results on the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®) examination. 

The online program, BehaviorAnalysis@Simmons, is equal in rigor to the on-campus program and is delivered online through a blend of live, online courses and self-paced coursework. Mentoring and experience hours, which are required to sit for the BCBA® examination, are incorporated into our program, ensuring a high-quality experience and individualized feedback. 

This program is not available for residents of AL, AR, AZ, DE, IN, IA, KY, LA, NM, NC, OH, OR, TN, WA, WI.
